Forum DVD
Hi Graeme,
Do you have any of the DVD copies left? I would like to have the DVD copy sent out to me if possible. I can then copy and send on to whoever would want one as well. Let me know. Thanks.

Hi Gumby. I gave Azureus the flick again and reinstalled uTorrent. Heres a screenshot of whats happening. To be safe i removed the .txt extension from all files and as you say they changed to utorrent files.
When I test the port if its open it says ERROR! Port does not seem to be open. I set a static IP and designated the generated random port as the tcp and UDP port. Anything else I need to do that you can see from the screen shot.
And btw, I've given this computer direct access to the internet rather than through a shared ICS.If you never made a mistake, you never made anything!

As administratively intensive as the first round has been, we are getting enough new movies to justify a new CD soon.......bugger huh!

Shedhand - if you are having so much trouble with Torrents, why not just use the FTP service that Groggy is offering?

I hate em......pity I also work in IT......
Have a good read of the threads on torrenting - there are some references to ports being blocked Gumby was talking about and firewalls that may help. I know nothing on that side of things, so can't help. Mine just worked, much to my relief."Clear, Ease Springs"

A while back I had an argument with my ISP provider as they were blocking ports... when the Terms of Contract for my account said they shouldn't be. They were blocking torrents & VOIP, although they tried telling me they weren't and that my firewall must be miscfg'ed. It really didn't take much to collect enough evidence to point out the error of their ways and start them providing me the services I was paying for.
Here's a relatively simple'n'painless way to find out which, if any, ports your ISP is blocking...
Go to the Gibson Research Corporation web page, scroll down to the "Hot Spots" item and select "ShieldsUP!" to do a port scan. I recommend that you read all of this page... but you can just click on PROCEED if you're already familiar with it. In the "ShieldsUp!! Services" frame, click on All Service Ports and let it do its' thing.
Once finished, scroll down past the results to "Detecting Ports Blocked By Your ISP." Read. Read carefully. (Hell, the whole page... the whole site! ...is worth reading.)
I'm sure you can figure out the rest for yourself.

I've got his Spinrite 6 for drive recovery, and get his (very occasional) email updates on the state of the world.
He has some very interesting info on a DOS attack his site was subjected to, and the timeline of it.
I do ShieldsUp checks when I install new systems for friends - my system comes up fully stealth - beauty of hardware firewalls (and Netgear equipment)"Clear, Ease Springs"
