Default Aust Red Cedar for 5-10 mm Silky Oak

Hi, Seeking to swap Aust Red Cedar (see pics for examples - dimensions given are clear sizes not overall size) for 5 to 10 mm thick quarter sawn southern silky oak. Also interested in swapping red cedar for some electrical work or other cabinet timber. Prefer local deal close to Brisbane. Regards Owen

    Hi owen,
I have some silky i used to test my mill laying around.
About 1/3 of a log about 300 across from memory and maybe 2.5-3.0m long not sure if its southern ?
Your welcome to it, i dont mind cutting it up for you if needed, more practice on the mill would be good.
It has only been down about 3-4 months so still wet..
    Cheers.
    Tom

    Hi Tom,
Thanks for the offer but i was hoping for some well seasoned stuff to use in a current project. Your horizontal bandsaw build sounds very interesting. What sort of capacity does it have and how big is the blade? I would be interested in testing it on a bit of red cedar.
    Regards Owen

Its been a challange to build Owen not always enjoyable but i have learnt allot.
The mill can take logs upto 1150 diameter and 5m long (hoping to lengthen it soon)
It can only slab up to 900 due to the blade guides.
The blades 4.7m long its a 1.1 tpi 1\14 wide.
Good to watch the tmber come straight from raw logs..
