I apologize in advance if this isn't quite the proper way to put in a listing. Forum Mods/Admins please PM me and I'll fix it up.
I'm after some short lengths of 6x1" beech. 8 or 9 inches long to make liners/jaws for my new bench vice.
I'm located in Fairfield, Western Sydney, but I am regularly around Parramatta, Toongabbie, Blacktown and Liverpool in the course of my week. I haven't much to swap, but will pay a few dollars for the scraps if you like.
I don't want to tread on any potential trades or deals, but if you get really stuck, Anagote timbers in Marrickville have European Beech.
I wonder if they might have an offcut or two that could suit your needs? Here's their site, it might be worth a quick call: Anagote Timbers, Marrickville | Timber Sydney
I am now almost certain that the timber I want is actually Tasmanian Beech/Myrtle - this is what my bench apron is made from. No luck. So far no luck from trade either as they all want to sell me 6ft, 8ft or 10ft boards, when I need two pieces 9 inches long.
Try Trend Timbers at Mulgrave/ McGraths hill, they ofter have small lengths hanging around.
