    Default Need some old Ironbark

Chasing some 75x75mm, or preferably bigger, Narrow-leaved Ironbark - 4 pieces about 780mm long - rough-sawn, weathered and bleached would be even better! Would also consider anything that looks very similar. Got a pretty good range of species to trade this end .

Slightly wrong colour Croc!! Trying to get a close match to the rest of the 100 or so year old table. It's all grey/bleached at present but parts of the raw timber will be exposed once I reconstruct it.

Well I tried, I thought Ironbark was only for the BBQ.

Hi Neil. We were guessing it was E. crebra (sometimes called Red Ironbark) because it came from the Gilgandra area where a mill once operated cutting Ironbark and White Cypress - the braces on the table were White Cypress which added credence to the guesswork, however, the couple of pieces I have chiselled a chunk out of for a closer look are much lighter then I expected, more the colour of Poplar Box or similar. I'll plane a side off one of the old legs tonight and put a picture up of what I need to match - will be easier for all that way.

This is one of the old legs where I planed most of the bleaching off but it is roughly the same colour down a couple of mm as in the piece I chiselled a chunk out of. I really could use anything that looks close to it.

I'll see what I have, the red ironbark down here is a lot darker, but not sure what ironbark the posts are (or even if they are the same). I'll go measure up what I have and cut some to see colour for you mate

Actually yours look more like grey ironbark

Ok I have 3 beams of 70x90 ~1.1m long of what I think is yellow ironbark or white ironbark, that may not be too far from yours. - left on photo

Also got 2 beams 140x75 ~1.1m long of very dark Red Ironbark. - right on photo

Both are from 10mm cut off the end. Both are very weathered and cracked, some even have old nails. Probably old stringers from outside decking stringers or similar and my guess >100 years old. I had them ear marked for vases/lamp bases, half turned half natural.

Now these are all bloody heavy, and way above Aus Post limits unless sent one at a time, and even then I'll have to cut them down to your 800mm

Have you checked your local secondhand dealer, or house demolition guys, that's where these came from.
