And you don't need to import one (and deal with the voltage issue that will undoubtedly arise).

That's a drum sander NOT a belt sander. As to made in New Zealand, I doubt it. The sander that rod1949 pictured would break your back if used as a floor sander.

Not sure why you would have any interest in that drum sander anyway when you have access to a range of machines with bigger capacity at lower prices.

It is a belt sander, it has a belt instead of a drum.

Those sander are junk had 2 of them spent more time changing paper then sanding, I have a production shop 2000 feet per month and the junk from rockler are junk.. grizzly sells them too.

I like the one from New Zealand quick paper change and 12" wide , I only need 10.5 for my widest piece.

That one was on ebay and is missing the feed motor

With the current exchange rates with NZ$1 worth on US73 cents that price may be very attractive. Freight on 0.5 m3, exacerbated by COVID restrictions, could be difficult or expensive.

Chevpac's website describes them as marketers and trainers, no mention of manufacturing - and I would be very surprised if these belt sanders are made in NZ, most likely made in Taiwan or China.

Why not email Chevpac and ask where they are made, continuity of spare parts, and for a quote including freight to USA?

For industrial use you need to be looking industrial machinery such as SCM, Homag Grizzly industrial. The machines of the type that you linked to are not designed for continuous use they are for intermittent home use.
While some industrial shops will use them those users will consider them expendable as a trade off for the cheap price. "you Get what you Pay for"
