What to do with 3 down pine trees
Hi all , I am new here and hopefully I am posting this in the right area if not I apologize.
Here goes:
I had to take down 3 pine trees last weekend due to a bad location and would love to use the sections that I have from them which each are about 3-4 feet logs (about 15 of them) .
I was thinking of making a log looking bridge for an upcoming koi pond I am making or possibly just a pathway
where half of each log is buried.
My question is this:
What do I do with the logs before I construct, do I sand off the bark and preserve logs with a sealer?
Also any ideas for their use outside appreciated.
Thanks
Ron

Hello rw34
Pine will not last in the ground, so the pathway is out.
Sanding off the bark would be so difficult that it isn't worth mentioning. (However, you could peel it off quite easily)
The best thing to do with them would probably be to cut them into slabs and dry them out for a year or so, then maybe you could build your bridge.Bob Willson
