Anyone able to recommend a good shipping agent in NZ?
I have inherited some furniture. Some intricately carved. It has sentimental value. The catch is, the furniture is in Tauranga, NZ and I live in Brisbane, QLD.
It would need to be wrapped, crated and shipped door to door.
Ordinarily I would assume it would not be worth the shipping cost. However there is this sentimental value for me.
So I will get some quotes and see if it's viable to ship one or some of the items.
If you can recommend any agents, please let me know.My YouTube channel: https://youtu.be/2_KPRN6I9SE

Unfortunately you are going to find that the Tasman Sea is the most expensive bit of water in the world for shipping charges by a long way. The shipping agent can be anywhere as you most probably won't meet as everything is done on the internet.

The problem you are going to have is the packing and palletisation/crating in NZ, if you can have that taken care of there are a couple of agents I would recommend, I've been in the industry for a long time now.
Also, shipping to and from NZ isn't that bad, I mostly deal with PNG, comparatively NZ is cheap.

Just looked it up, my current freight tariff for Tauranga with my preferred agent is AUD$150 per m3, seems pretty reasonable to me honestly.
Obviously that's not retail pricing but I wouldn't expect to be paying retail pricing to be more than more than $250 to $300 per m3 which is quite reasonable.

I think Conroys would be OK. They've been in the business a long time.
