I must be missing something, or using them wrong on the Mirka but i find Abranet do not last any longer than the cheap paper variety.

I reckon you're definitely doing something wrong if the Abranet isn't lasting longer than cheap sandpaper.
Or maybe it's a function of the timbers up there?

Are you using it attached to a shop vac?

We bought some of this stuff for the club and ourselves to try out and it is AWESOME!!!!! Never had much luck with Abranet on the ROS - doesn't last long at all, but the 3M stuff cuts and cuts and cuts and cuts and cuts . . . . . . . . . . and then some

Ive HEAPS of Abranet. Its great and lasts forever.

80 is excellent for cleaning up and I rarely use above 180. This is on a Mirka Ceros 150 with a 3mm ROS action. Its GREAT.

Here is a neato hand sander thats still in stock: https://www.amazon.com/Rockford-Ergo.../dp/B093HCRV3M

One might ask, if it lasts forever what you need HEAPS?

Default 3M Xtract Cubiitron II disappointing

I use a lot of sandpaper on my 150 ROS.

Both Abranet and Festool but mainly Abranet.
It seems to last longer , especially when rounding over edges.

I bought a range of the 3M Xtract Cubitron II after watching the youtube review.

The grit kept flaking off and the paper crumpled around the edges. The problem was the same on all the grits from #80 to #320.

The youtube review seemed very thorough but the tests were done on a flat boards.
I make cabinets and instruments and they all have edges so I need paper that can work with edges as well as large flat surfaces.

The Abranet would be my recommendation and I will try their new ceramic paper , called Galaxy, soon.

I have heard great things about the new 3M paper, but not on corners or narrow sections.

I would try some but I will seriously never run out with what I have currently.

    WELL.

    Funny story that.

There was a group buy and I was using Festools range. I was making full time and using it at a steady pace. When the GB occurred, I thought Id buy a good stash of everything with some spare boxes of 80 and 120 - these I used most of.

I think I'm STILL on my third or fourth disk, even now! It does last forever.

With several boxes of 50 in each grit, my great-grandkids are going to wonder about the sanity of their predecessors.....

Yes, using the Mirka vac. I'll have to play around with the ROS settings. Have played around with the volume but didn't discern any difference in finish or pad life.

I've found the "Ace" version of abranet seems to last much longer than the standard. Need to be careful near sharp edges with both.

Ah! I have ACE discs and was unaware (or had forgotten) that there was a lesser variety.

Thanks. There seems to be a dicotomy of views on Abrunet emerging on this thread:
    1. Those, like you, who are not impressed, and
    2. Those, like me, who have had very good experiences.

I wonder why our experiences are so variant? What are we doing differently?
