Adelaide Wood Work Show
Well it is nearly here, & I am as excited as a dozen Big Kev's. I am planing to surprise SWMBO with a shiney new Bandsaw this year & just know what she will think when she sights it for the first time...
What the hell is it & why do you need it?
I will be looking at the Leda14" & BAS350 & I hope I might find a JET 14" to look at as well. There seems to be a lot of people that swear by the Jet & the BAS350, but I have also found Leda usually has pretty good gear.
This is the event of the year for me, My sister & Brother-inlaw will be coming down from Murry bridge, & My Brother will be comming down from... well it's out in the boonies anyway, & my best mate will be comming up from Reynella (also out in the boonies, well it is from North Haven anyway) We all meet up & have great day out.
I don't know any of you guys, maybe I might spot your hat, but if you see some bloke who is about to part with a heap of cash on the wrong Bandsaw, Please feel free to come up & make yourself known.
What are you planning to give a new home to this year?

Up late dreaming of wood, eh Ticky?
I'm looking into sanding devices this year. A small ROS, or perhaps a belt/disc jobbie.
Don't forget the WW Forumites dinner on the Sat evening -- details here:

(see especially post 17)Those are my principles, and if you don't like them . . . well, I have others.

Thaks Zen, Good luck with you sanders. Have a look at the METABO Duo ROS mate. It is not cheap at over $300 but when you consider that a sander is used on nearly every project you work on, it is worth having spent the cash if you get what you pay for. I have had mine for 2 years now, & I am wrapped with it. To my knowledge, it is the only dual orbit sander on the maket, so you can rip into the rough stuff & then finnish to a fine finish with the same sander.
I am in no way connected to any company that that may befefit, from this, it is Just My Opinion.
Sorry I can't make the dinner fellow SA woodies, but I will be looking for your caps.

I'll be there Friday also with a bandsaw on my shopping list. A mate bought the leda one last year, got a real good deal at the show (including free shipping to Mt. Gambier) & has been real happy with it. Also want some ubeaut products, some t-track & hardware & maybe a powered respirator if I don't blow it all on something else. Warm up the EFTPOS machine....

Hi Reg,
I will be going on Saturday, so let me know friday night if you bought your Bandsaw, Which one you bought & why you decided on that one, if you are not too busy playing with your new toy's that is.
I am keen on the Leda, but the Bas350 has a bigger motor & I PM'd a forum member who has one & he is very happy with his BAS. My ploblem is I have also spoken to another Forum Member with the Leda Who is equally happy with his. Maybe this is not a problem in the long term as it appears that you can't go wrong with either, but more of a problem in the short term deciding between the two.
Still like to have a look at a Jet though.
Good luck Reg.

I'm confused  (no surprises there)
We have a well known member called Tikki and it appears also one called Ticky.
Both are apparently in SA. Are you one and the same or does Ticky need to change his/her screen name?
Enquiring minds would like to know.

Thats a pretty good price, but put on the thunbscrews for a couple of blades as well, you never know.
Good luck Reg.

Thanks for getting back to me, I will be there tomorrow Morn.
Did you buy it from the Carbatec Stand, or one of their Agents?
