    Default Adirondack chair

I had this posted elsewhere, but the response was deafening silent .

around 3 years ago I dismantled a wine barrel and converted into Adirondack chair, love it very enjoyable with a glass of red in the evenings outside.

However I did the whole thing in outdoor estapol and with life forgot to keep it refreshed.
I now have seal wanting to peal off and dreading what may be the best way to repair restore this.
Please excuse the dang spider webs and bird poop, wifey likes feeding the little buggas.

If it was my chair, anything that can be disassembled, would be, completely sanded, and re assembled. I don’t like paint stripper so it’s all mechanical or hand sanding.

What he said plus DO NOT USE POLY, MARINE OR SPAR VARNISH in the sun limited life span ( 3 years if you're lucky)

better to use decking oil or similar just wipe on every 3 months wipe off done. better still keep out of sun particularly on Eyre peninsular.
    cheers

Make another, that is where the fun is at.

If it is going to be exposed to the elements, consider painting it (before assembly).

cheers thanks for input, I was hoping for a easy way out but your right pull down, sand and .... and ... still deciding weather to oil or antique/rustic/distressed paint. if this way thinking oilbased or enamel white base coat the a coat of coastal blue and hit with rags and stuff while still wet, then when dry do a rough sanding job.

enough of 2021 that was the year of procrastinating, this is the year to achieve results.
