Where can I get advice or buy japanese tools or tools in Hong Kong
Hi Guys, I have been living in Japan for many years, but because of a divorce, I have now moved back to HK. Unfortunately, sending all my tools back from Japan will cost me lots. So now I have to rebuild my tools from the start. Any advice or help will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

There was an article recently about Mujingfang in one of the local magazines. They are a China based tool manufacturing company which also have another company know as Woodwell. I think if you do a search for Woodwell you should be able to local them in Hong Kong.
The other option would be to purchase Japanese tools online and have them sent to Hong Kong. The downside to this is that you already have tools in Japan which would negate the purpose of sending tools to Hong Kong?

I assume you are talking about hand tools? Given the cost of Japanese tools I think it would be much cheaper to pack up your tools and send them to Hong Kong. I've been travelling to Hong Kong regularly for 20 years and I've never found a supplier of quality woodworking tools. There are plenty of power tool sellers in Mong Kok (Reclamation St and Canton Rd) but no decent wood working tool sellers.
PS. I have no idea how I thanked Tahlee for the pics. New laptop with super-sensitive trackpad I think. I can't remove it.

Are you sure about the cost of sea frieghting your tools from Japan to HK? Maybe shop around for some quotes on a slow boat.

As HKG is basically a free port, the cost of importing the tools via SeaFreight should be cost effective against buying new hand tools in HKG. If after power tools, MongKok is the place to start, then also search Sham Shui Po as well.
