not fond of that type, I prefer a belt drive, separate compressor idea, I bought mine (12 cfm) close to 20 years ago, it is still as good as gold, look around within your original < $800 budget and you will find a reasonable one!

just a quick doodle around and i found this one https://www.machineryhouse.com.au/Pr...stockCode=C501 well within your budget and streets ahead of that chinese faker!
    G'day I'm Dave!

Cheers for all the advice, in the end though SWMBO won out and I went for that one ie:

    2.5HP Hi-Flow Air Compressor + Bonus 30M Hose & 50 Piece Air Tool Kit - Supercheap Auto

It comes with a 50 piece air kit but I have no idea what I would use them for ie

    Air Impact Wrench
Air Hammer with chisels - whatever that means???
    Air Rachet Wrench

Is it basically for automotice mechanics is it?

Air hammers are handy if your working on stone/brick house's also they cut thin steel well, only for roughing out(the chisel will have a V shape cut into it).

I'd go back and swap the two tools I will hardly ever use for for one I would use. If you talk long enough they'll do it, and if you are a good talker they may even swap for two.
