    Default Advice Please

    Hei Guys,
A friend of mine has asked me to make her a new queen size bed frame - she is not fussed about looks but it has to be cheap and solid.

I was thinking a simple frame out of demo yard 4x2 jarrah with an extra beam in the middle running the length of the bed, re-using the pine slats from the old frame and 6 legs.

Does this sound like a feasible plan?

    Cheers
    Paul

Sounds good Paul, now get on with it..and don't forget the piccies....

Oh and one small piece of almost useful info...it sometimes is better if you turn up like a piece of broom handle with a black rubber door stop (stoppers ) thing on one end and drill a same size hole in the underside of the centre beam. Just like a little leg in the middle ...Helps.

    Cheers

Though I am not a big fan of knock down fittings I think that for a bed they are appropriate.Furnware Heathcote nsw 2233, phone 1800101009 might be able to help.

    Hei Chook,
She's been in the same house about 15 years and has no plans to move so portability is not an issue - the main criteria is cheap and solid.

VZSquizz - it took me a re-read of your post re: the bit of broom handle mounted in the middle of the bed, before I realised you meant for it to point DOWN ...

    Cheers,
