Advice needed for new table saw
Ok - I need advice
I'm thinking to buy *this table saw
http://www.timbecon.com.au/details/1...able-8608.aspx
Its a Sherwood 10 inch job.
Seems pretty ok at the price (and looks like it would do a helluva job compared to my MK3)
Advice then: what would you's guy say or recommend here?
Am I spending my missus' money wisely? - or what?
any advice or discussion is appreciated

As for spending wisely, moving to a solid steel top is a good investment. There is a huge amount of discussion on the pros and cons of a lot of machines available here - do a few searches and you should find some great info. Good luck on the purchase!

I'm still attracted to my original choice. . .
C'mon guys and gals... Advise me. . . Pls. ..

For a decent slider, you need to pay a small fortune. I'm sorry if that disappoints you but its true.
You are better off buying a good table saw and building a sled (not hard). The slider pictured is not big enough to do full sheets anyway.
For the money you cannot beat a TSC 10 and a sled or the Jet supersaw and a sled. You wont go wrong with those two saws.

i have the TSC 10HB, and i am ver happy with it. its an excellant machince, and great value for money.
I guess the question is whether u really need a sliding table.
U can always adapt a triton sliding table to the 10HB or get the proper sliding table for it.

So that narrows my choice down to this or the TS250. . .
The MJ is abt $300 cheaper - so there's the freight costs.
Decisions... Decisions...

As I said I'm saving up - and I'll reach 1200 a long way before I reach 1600... And it seems the freight for either of these babies will be abt $300 cos I live way way out...
Looks like the MJ might win - also it has a sliding table which is very handy
Thanks very much to all for your info.

Hi
As long as shes 10" 3hp cabinet then you cant really go wrong.
The rest is down to personal preferance and the best deal.
My 2c is dont get sold on trinkets, just strength and durability.
Good Luck
