Professional Woodworking Supplies - one of our "sponsors" supporters also sell it via mail order.
Depends if you want gold/brass coloured or blue.

You can also use sail track from Capral Aluminium, if you do a search on that you will find quite a bit of info on it.

Certainly the cheapest option and it works a treat.

Last time I tried to get sail track from Capral they told me they don't keep it any more .
I got the stuff from Ullrich Aluminium . $15.00 for 6metre length

Sorry to jump in a little late but I've been away.
Did a search and found an old post of mine which I have copied as I also ran into the "I dunno" problem at Capral - not sure if it is still applicable as I haven't used it for a while - but it's probably worth a go.
"With regards the sail [T type] track
Capral appears to have changed their product/description codes - I quoted the old numbers etc to be told that the product code is now 810957 and the product description is EE4204 6106 T6 - their computer system may not locate the item under the old number EE4204 5106 T6 . - if you give them the wrong #'s apparently some say they have never heard of it.
Regards
Bob
PS have used quite a bit of it - you do need to drill and countersink your own holes - only problem is finding the correct counter sink screws at a reasonable length."
Hope it helps,
Bob

Google capral sail track and it finds the pdf capral catalog dated 2008. Search the pdf for sail track (p78-79 of current document).
http://www.capral.com.au/ArticleDocu...ialCatalog.pdf
There are two sizes of sail track (I got the engineering CAD drawings of the extrusions from Capral by emailing them.):
Small (E4204 die) nominal 22x9 (actually 22.23x8.71; track slot 7.92; internal width 17.45; wall thickness 2.37)
Large (E4200 die) nominal 32x12 (actually 31.75x11.89; track slot 13.49; internal width 25.39; wall thickness 3.18)
There are 8 item variations with different product numbers. The basic ones as mentioned
810957 is small track mill finish 6061T6 alloy, 4m length.
841040 is large track mill finish 6061T6 alloy, 4m length.
Last time I went to capral a couple of months ago, they were charging $25 freight to get in out-of-stock items, but they can tell which branches have stock in the computer if you'd rather drive than pay. A month before I thought it was free.Last edited by blouis79; 17th May 2009 at 11:45 AM. Reason: clarification

I need some sail track too
I used to buy sail track from Capral in Clayton, started using it in all my jigs, now I can't get it. Capral are extremely un-helpful every time I have contacted them to get some. They tell me its only used in QLD now and its not worth shipping down a few lengths for a small customer like me.
Everywhere I go lately I get treated like a nuisance because I am only a small customer.
If these big businesses don't start looking after the little guys in the coming times ahead they will find out the hard way where most of their bread and butter money was coming in from. I think they have go too big for thier boots as usual. Capral have taken over just about every Aluminium supplier I knew. They used to be great to deal with. Service goes out the window when companies grow into these monster companies. I'm suprised they aren't owned by Bunnings yet, they buy everyone else (maybe they are).
Anyway, getting back on track (pardon the pun) maybe if we get enough people here in Melbourne to order some then they will put some on one of their trucks for us and send it down.
They have a minimum order I think.
Would work out a fair bit cheaper if we all split the cost of shipping.
Who in Melbourne would be interested?
If there are enough people interested I will reluctantly contact them again and find out all the details, price, amount to order etc.
Lets work together and get these guys to deal with us, its great stuff, we need it in Melbourne. I will stock large amounts once I have my new racks set up then maybe sell it in shorter lengths for anyone interested.
Who wants some? How many meters? Whats your location?

I am after some of that sail track to use in jigs so i would be happy to join a group order
by the way just to be sure can someone post picture of sail track as there seems two types
a square profile which you self drill(looks like mitre track) and another which is flat with semicircle on one side which you slip edge of sail into
would need to be sure of type

You might try G James.
They carry a wide range of extrusions, some of which may be applicable.Geoff

I went through this exercise early this year here in Brisbane.
I phoned Capral and they told me the only stock they had was in Newcastle and Townsville with no prospect of getting any in Brisbane. I also visited them at Moorooka in Brisbane (they have now moved to Underwood) and they confirmed they did not stock it and no prospect of getting in.
After a lot of running around one of the aluminium companies referred me to Ullrich Aluminium and they stock the Marine Sail Track (with the rounded corners) which I bought from them and will do the job. Cost was about $15 for I think a 4 metre length.
They have two profiles and I got the smaller 22 x 8 mm profile.
http://www.ullrichmetals.com.au/pdf/...d_products.pdf
You need to drill your own holes and countersink them and I used 5/16" carriage bolt which needs to be filed slightly to fit but then works OK. Not perfect but does the job. I actually got a local engineering company to machine the bolts as I was after them in a hurry but it is not a big job to do yourself. They charged me $20 to machine 20 bolts to fit.
Ullrich Aluminium seem to have Branches around Australia and are also in New Zealand so they would seem to be a likely supplier. I don't know if I just got lucky or if they stock this profile in all their branches.
Hope this helps.

I have a copy of Alspec's catalouge on my computer and they list a sail track very close in size to Capral's.
The part no. is E4204
I think Alspec maybe a bit easier to deal with.
