Bunta.......that sounds a little expensive to me but then I don't live too far from the mill.....where they charge about $1,000 per cubic for river red gum, rough sawn, green.

I think we paid about $23 per length for 2.7m lengths of 200x50 for our lot recently.....I know that the 1.8m lengths of the same size in sleeper grade were going for about $12 per length for a time .
Ours is not to reason why.....only to point and giggle.

Dare I ask if the table can handle a little rustic warping, or do you intend getting the stuff kiln-dried? Red gum - looks great in all positions, and ends up in a different position every time the weather changes.

they have been cut from dead trees lying on the ground so they should be pretty seasoned but i will stack them & let them sit for a while .
should i paint the ends still or is it not necessary ?

Even stuff thats been sitting on the ground will still have a fair bit of moisture in it.

I have milled logs that have been down for 20 yrs or more and it still has 20% or higher moisture content.
    Cheers
