I am soooo angry
I am so bloody crazy hopping mad
I have just been up to Lincoln Sentry in Cairns and bought 2 boxes @ 1.000 square drive screws, OR SO I THOUGHT
It took the idiot 45 minutes to serve me, won't go into the stupid crap he did before I finally walked out with the boxes, suffice to say, I had a sample of each screw with me and also bought the bits for them.
Came home ( it is a 2 hour drive to Cairns) opened the boxes and found they had given me PHILIPS HEAD SCREWS.
$40 worth of fuel and $75 for the screws wasted.
Guess who is going to get a very nasty phone call tomorrow.
Wolffie
Every day is better than yesterday
Cheers

Dear Wolffie,
Ouch!... The planets most definitely weren't aligned for you today... You get that sometimes (where bad things like a long wait, and the wrong item combine together to form The Perfect Storm of Buggered-Uppery...) For what it's worth, I've copped bad stuff stringed together like that plenty of times (I've even invented a couple of new swear words to help me cope). I'm a pretty unlucky guy.
So you're not alone.
Best Wishes,
Batpig.

**WARNING: RANT ALERT**
What is it about FNQ? I worked up in Townsville some time ago and the quality of the service used to infuriate me. One battery dealer I visited (a factory in the same park as our shed) was on the phone. She was obviously talking to a friend. She was behind the desk and I was standing RIGHT IN FRONT OF HER for God's sake. She continued talking to her friend for the next 12 minutes (I was constantly looking at the clock on the wall behind her). After she decided it was time to serve me I asked her for the battery that we had ordered and guess what...it was sitting on the freakin' desk right in front of me and she just pointed to it and then continued her conversation!!!!!! Needless to say I blackballed that supplier.
** RANT OVER **
Bad luck mate...I am sure it must be the heat that does their heads in. Better luck next time.

No I did not, I had a "date" with Journeyman Mick and was in a hurry to keep it but, for goodness sakes, I bought the bits for the screws at the same time and showed him the samples which he also measured several times and brought with him every time he went into the back part of the shop.
I had a smaller screw with me as well and wanted a bit for it. After measuring the screw FOUR times and walking out the back between each measurement, he came back and told me the screws had to be ordered, they didn't have any in stock.
I must admit, I was not very nice when I told the kid (one of those "I wouldn't know where my head is if someone didn't point it out to me") I wanted the BIT not the SCREW.

The bloke that served you was obviously a Mexican.
If it was a local, you'd probably have got a box full of nails

Bad service
Nothing more infuriating than bad service.
Had an experience similar to that of Geebung when I wanted to buy a drink once. When the girl finally got off the phone and rudely asked what I wanted she was told, "Nothing, I just wanted to see how long it would take you to serve me."
On the other side of the ledger I went to buy a water pump for my car once. The Young fellow brought out the "genuine xxxxx part" ,looked up the price and said th will be $X." I was a bit stunned because I had bought one from them previously for less than half the quoted price. Young fellow rechecked, no, price was correct. He then said "Wait a minute" and disappeared into the darkness of the spare parts dept. After several minutes he appeared with another pump in a plain box. He was fairly new to the job but had remembered seeing these in a cleanup. Looked up the price and guess what? Lessthan half the price of the other pump.

L S in Cairns are dead set hopeless.
Service is very slow & very unpleasant.
They hate small orders.
They hate non-tradies.
They hate credit card sales.
Prices are a rip off unless you know somebody.
Their knowledge of their own product is poor.
They don't care 2 hoots.
The only time that I have been there that was not a complete stuff up was to collect something for a tradie who had an account & he had ordered it & he had rung them to let them know I was coming.
I walked in the door, it was on the floor waiting for me, I picked it up & walked out with it.
Mind you, they had still managed to stuff the order up and it wasn't what he really wanted.Cliff.
If you find a post of mine that is missing a pic that you'd like to see, let me know & I'll see if I can find a copy.
