Veneered plywood - where to buy?
Hi guys
May not be the correct subforum to ask, if not please point me in the right direction.
Looking to purchase a couple of sheets of walnut veneered plywood for a bar cabinet project. I've found a couple of options online but freight is very expensive to regional NSW.
Where do ya'll purchase your plywood from?

I don't know of any in regional NSW - you might need to grab a trailer and have an adventure. That said, your location is listed as NSW - and regional NSW is a big place - if you let us know roughly where in NSW, someone might have another ida.
In Sydney, or if you can get there, I would give these folks a call - they can get quite a variety of veneers - whether Walnut is among them, I do not know, but they will quickly be able to advise you: Bruynzeel | Sydney's Supplier for Plywood, Timber & Panels

Location updated to something a little more specific
Bunnings do a hardwood veneered plywood. It's not walnut but I didn't mind the look of it when I had a look at the weekend. Does anyone have any experience with it?

ok, that's an AA rated panel (so two show faces) and marine ply so it has better internal lamination consistency than a non-marine ply. So all in all it's a high quality product that would make decent "presentation" but will not be a higher quality and known timber face veneer... But it has a big +1 for availability, right?

it's just plywood so typically no different to their cheaper ply or a "real" furniture ply you'd buy from some of those other suppliers. Just take care in doing everything that everyone talks about - tape over your cut-line in particular, and cutting thru the ply and into something sacrificial that supports the underside, are the two big factors that will likely help.
And have you checked the local suppliers (B&B for example?) if they deal with any of the ply manufacturers/distributors and can help?

I have used a few sheets of that, as you say availability is a huge plus and where I live other options are almost non existent. I have a few pictures over in my projects thread here AJ's Projects
The only real issue I have found is with splintering on the cuts, all plywood will splinter but this stuff seems particularly prone. I get a lot less splintering with cheap CD ply. I guess the other issue which is not unique to this and to some extent exists in all wood products is the consistency of colour, even selecting sheets that look the same doesn't mean they won't look quite different to each other after finish is applied, you should be able to notice that in the pictures in my thread.
Cheers Andrew

This mob are in Grafton and offer a camphor laurel plywood. Should look better than marine ply.
Prices weren't bad from what I can remember, they were at Maleny last year and offered delivery to Brizzie.
