Just make sure you if you are going to feed them that you give them the appropriate food . Apparently mince fed to birds like the Magpies and Kookaburras will give them high cholesterol levels.

When growing up there was a local cockatoo named Beverly that was someone's pet. It flew about the neighbourhood and would regularly visit to say hello. When he saw people outside having a bbq he would fly down and take drinks out of all the empty beer cans, and yes stagger after finding too many.
Was also known to sneak up on sleeping dogs, yell in their ear and fly off squawking, sounded like laughing to us.
the owner was a big bloke, 6'2" and a bikie to boot.

I would love to grow my own food, but I can not find bacon seeds

My thoughts have always been ...if a pic is up on open internet/forums/farcebook etc is free to copy/exploit etc

That is a great picture and yes I can see the goat.
Strangely enough down here in Tassie, Kookaburras' are considered introduced vermin and best dealt with by a bullet.
Having lived here for 30 plus years you never saw one in the early days and now the numbers are increasing hugely. At the same time many of the smaller birds that are native to here and were once plentiful are now noticeably fewer in numbers.
Sad but true.
