auto feed for table saws
I am seeking advise on auto feed device to assist with table saw rip cuts. I have some ongoing work every 4weeks requiring approx 200 cuts at 2.2 mt long and the material is 20mm thick and 180mm wide.I am thinking of purchasing a auto feed to keep the cuts straight and consistent. The cuts are both 90 degrees and 45 degrees. My research shows they are available in .25 , .5 , and 1hp and my power is single phase.
Looking for advise on brands and motor size and any other input.
many thanks in advance Brit from Brissie

Have a look at this
Little Proteus Power feeder
ive bought the kit and have it 90% done but I’ve yet to fit to a machine in my shed. Requires quite accurate work to complete kit depending what stage you buy. Also may need further adaption to your saws fence and the fence braced against deflection incurred by feeder pushing against work.
like I say yet to be proven in my case.
let me know if you have any questions or contact the guy in states. He’s very helpful."World's oldest kid"

Personally I would look at something like this AF-34 1hp 3 WHEEL 4 SPEED POWER FEEDER - Leda Machinery

I had a Fromia 3 phase feeder that we used in the spindle Moulder all the time.
Also on the jointer and tablesaw when doing runs of stuff.
It was a big awkward thing to move but made the job so much quicker and safer.
Gave it to a mate for his PK as there was no interest on here and I’ve only got toy machinery nowadaze.
The Leda one looks ok.
There are others for sale of this type.

Carbatec
Carbatec make a good small one, you could probably find the chinese generic version which no doubt it is and buy it directly. I picked one up in Victoria for rustynail and brought ti to Sydney for him and it looked a well built thing. My advice is to just buy one ready made and use it straight away, if your circumstances change and you don’t need it, it will be easy to move on here.

A power feder works fine on a table saw, provided your rip fence can handle the side pressure. As most rip fences are only connected at one end, the side pressure from the feeder can cause the fence to flex. If you clamp a piece of timber up against the outside of the fence and towards the extremity of the fence the flexing is prevented, allowing the feeder to do its job properly. If using a small feeder with only a couple of drive wheels and a low horsepower motor it is important to keep the saw table well lubricated as the friction between timber and table can out-perform the feeder rollers. Parifin wax works well (think candle.)
You will wonder why you never fitted one earlier.
