    Default Backgammon anyone?

I got conned into making a Backgammon board for an aquaintance. It proved to be a very intersting project. Firstly the project dimensions are totally dominated by the size of the stones (or counters). This determines the size of the points and therefore the field size. The height of the box is of course dependant on the stone diameter as well!
The timber for the points was Huon pine and Woolybut, with Silky oak as the infill. The box was Cherry (burns like a B*******)
It requires 48 identical iscosolees(sp?) triangles which in turn needed some careful jigging and special clamping fixtures. However the result was that the diagonals of each field was within 0.5 mm as was the field to field measurement.
    Finish was oil/wax DSC_0035.jpgDSC_0036.jpgDSC_0047.jpg
