Bathroom Renovation
Hello all,
As a viewer of the Woodwork Forum for at least 2 years, I have used this wonderful website to assist in my knowledge to complete house renovations and I have finally decided to take the plunge and join up as a member.
I have already completed renovations on my kitchen , dining room, lounge room and laundry, and am now taking the plunge on the bathroom! The existing bathroom is quite small (2.2m x 1.8m) and I will extend it out to approx 3.2m x 1.8 m. It will also involve removing a linen press and an old window. The downside is I will have to get up in the ceiling space and put in a support beam to allow the extension of the bathroom by 1m.
I will throw some pictures up of the bathroom including the lovely timber paneling and mulititudes of wall paper - lol!
At this stage i'm looking at wall tiles 300 x 300, wall tiles 300 x 600, shower 900 x 1200, vanity 850 x 1000 and bath 1700 x 850.
I also need to start looking at water membrane/proofing requirements for Victoria.

Hello I am so aghast right now I do not know if its the right place to ask, but since I saw wood and bathroom these words appearing here I decided to write about my problem. Since the last couple of weeks I am getting to hear a strange ticking sound in my bathroom cabinet which is made of wood, there are lizards around but I am sure the sound were not from them. My friends are telling me this might be some form of a bug and one of them even identified it as the death watch beetle. I am at loss now what do people here think about this?
Hope I can save my plantation blinds

Reno
Welcome to the madhouse. It semms you have done wll without the input of the various inmates here..
I don't know if they still print them but Mitre 10 used to have DIY leaflets with all the various requirements for each state for bathroom constrution and waterproofing.
There are professional waterproofers around and wht they do with fibre glass and other magic potions will leave what we Do It Yourselfers can do for dead.
Cheers and happyrenovating!
