    Default Beginner.Needs help!

    hey i want to start wood carving but im unsure on the type of wood to buy and what tools i should buy and where i buy both of these things!!
    i want to carve a design i drew into a bit of wood for the top of a jewellery box im making for my girlfriend.unsure of the type of wood to purchase as i also might stain the final product.
    any help (wood) be much appreciated.

    Hiya! Welcome to our madhouse.

    perhaps you want to ask these questions in the Woodcarving and Sculpture part of this site.

    That way you're more likely to get the attention of those who know.

    Me, my predilection is for carving via a wood lathe and I suspect that both my timber and tool choices would be a bit different to what you want.
    I may be weird, but I'm saving up to become eccentric.
