Default Belt & Disc Linisher Sander model L- 612

Hi I was wondering if anyone on the forum had a Belt & Disc Linisher Sander model L- 612 size 150x 1220 Belt 305 Disc From Hare & Forbes
I am going to buy one and would like some feedback if anyone has this machine it’s a little bit bigger than the model from Major wood working tools there's being 1HP and H&F being 2HP otherwise they look identical. Both made in Taiwan I had previously bought a Jet JSG-6DC first off straight out of the box….. machine would not start needed a new switch electrician replaced under warranty started again run machine for 3minits motor got very hot and smoke started to come out of motor casing turn off machine returned and got my money back.
I then found out that Jet Australia was not going to represent themselves in Australia and Carba Tec would have the Australian agency and there would be no new stock coming into Australia until October and later updated to November by CT staff at Brisbane.
So I have decided to shop in my own backyard and went H&F.
Just to some up on things all the retailers that were involved in my problem and helped me try to find a solution to it were all great to deal with and very helpful
They being Trend Timber Sydney Gregory Wood Working Machinery Brisbane Wood Working Warehouse Melbourne and Major Tools Sydney it was just unfortunate that timing was bad on my part and it does not matter what you buy or how much you pay or how good the products are they may all fail at some point and it’s good to know that all these companies will stand by you in after sales support.
Anyway after my little ramble if there is any one that has this machine or have one like it it would be great to hear from you.
Thanks for taking the time to read my post Colbra

    G'Day Col,
The machine that died was the new one I saw in your shed a few weeks back - DAMN what rotten luck with a new machine!!
Sorry, I have no advice on the Hare & Forbes machine.
Very bad news that another international supplier is opting out of Australia.
All the best with sorting out the replacement.
    Cheers, crowie

Hi Pete yep that was it! The one I sold was the one that Avery bought, it was good machine but I wanted something with more power I suppose I could wait till November for another Jet machine from Carba Tec but as I said I think I will stay in my back yard.
If I did buy from CT and the same thing happened again the machine would have to go to Brisbane. At least at H&F they will send a Tech up here and fix it and that’s from prior experience with the company over the last 15 years.
Since putting this post up I have committed to buy the sander from H&F I will pick it up tomorrow.
I can run it at the warehouse before bringing it home to make sure all is ok and worst case scenario if it stops they will get me another or give me my money back so there no worries there. There is probably not that much that can go wrong with a combo sander may be a bearing or a switch no big deal there and the motor is under warranty for 2 years.
It looks like no one on the forum has this machine or they have all broken down and don;t wish to talk about it

Hope all is well in your camp Col .
