Thread: Belt Sander cheapest way to buy belts!

Don't keep it to yourself - what is the name & contact details of the place that makes the belts? If they are good & cheap, interstate postage isn't that much.

As for the sander, I have an old Bosch that look's exactly the same and uses the same size belts.
In my opinion, they are not well balanced, and require a deft touch to keep them nice and flat.
Compared to a Makita, they are a toy! (my 2c worth)

I find this type of sander great to use as it puts your hands low to the surface being sanded and also infront of and behind so you let the sander weigh do the sanding. Sanders with a handle on top tend totip backwards, and potentially dig in on start up.

I got my belts about a 1/3 of the price, they are great quality and I never would have found out about this if I hadn't bought a sander with a non-standard belt size.

Anyway I thought of this and sharing it when I saw one of these sanders that looks in great knick on ebay. I have put the link below. I don't have ant connection to the seller. I just know it is a great sander and that one of you might get a bargain. It finishes in less than a day. So if interested check out the link below.

Also stop paying hardware store prices and get your abrasives straight from the producers. (I did even have to get $30 worth of belts I got about 15 belts $18 and about 20 sheets of quality paper $12.) probably about $70-90 at hardware store.
