Thread: Biscuit joining

You have to slightly elongate the slot to fit the biscuit into the slot. It has to be slightly deeper to allow for the glue and biscuit to fit into the slot. Once the biscuit absorbs the glue it will expand and fill the gap that is created by the cutter provided you have not got too carried away in you widening of the slot
Keep the biscuits in a dry conainer away from moisture if not over time the will expand and when you try to use them they will not fit into the slot. Just like dunking your bikies in your coffee

It sounds to me that you bought the incorrect cutter for the triton biscuits.
Reason I say this is that the triton cutter doesn't have a Bearing. And yours is probably the incorrect diameter.

Biscuits are very easy to use even for a first timer but you need the correct setup, do yourself a favour and purchase the full triton biscuit joiner, you'll appreciate what I mean then.

Hello Dod, I manufacturer Triton Wood joiners at Bix Products Pty Ltd in Wauchope NSW.
The router cutter for the Triton (Size 7 Bix) must be 50mm Diameter x 4 mm Kerf.
All of our Wood Biscuits are made from 4mm thick solid timber slats of either Hoop Pine (Softwood) or Flooded Gum (Hardwood)
The Biscuits are impressed and pressed out on a press machine to an average thickness of 3.85mm thick.
And upon been glued and placed into a slot, they swell back to their original thickness of 4.00mm thus forming a firm join.
