    Default Blum 550mm drawers

    Hello All,
I hope you all have the best woodworking year yet.
Making my kitchen out or 17mm marine ply.
Have bought 9 Blum Tandem sets, and can't find much help, but when you're not a cabinet maker the learning curve is steep. I have also bought plastic cutlery inserts 490mm wide and 540 deep. I want 17mm front and back ends on my drawer, this means 574mm deep drawer (minimum).
Now, the problem is that the runners are only 550mm deep and there is a height adjuster on the end which lessens available drawer depth to about 530mm.There does not seem to be much advice on how to attach the drawer to the runner.
    Can anybody help me out?
    Thanks

    Default Blum drawers

If you go to the blum website or Wilson and Bradley website you will find the information that you need. I know when using other Blum slides you have to have a 25mm gap between the drawer and the carcass. If you went to Wilson and Bradley or any cabinet maker with a general enquiry I am sure that you would get the answers to your questions.
If you have got all the measurements for you drawers you should add the required gap eg 25mm to the dimensions of the carcass of the drawer space/cavity. Don't forget to allow for the thickness of your material - 17 mm and allow for the overhang of the drawer fronts if that is your style.

    Regards,
    Smithy

If the insert is a moulded plastic one, this can be trimmed to fit the internal drawer size.
The drawer fronts are normally attached to the tandembox sides with a front fixing clip that is attached to the back of the drawer front then inserted into the end of the metal sided profile and clip together.

Hope this info helps as Im not exactly sure what you meant in your post.
