Board, Joists then ?
Me again,
This time, with a low/ground level deck question. The deal is, I have about 150mm from the brickline/door, down to natural ground. Consider: 19mm board + 90mm joist - which would sit about 40 or so mm above the ground.
Of course, I'd have 2 options, bearer or bearer-less.
Bearer: Some excavation to clear enough room for bearers and post holes/stirrups.
Bearer-less: The bearer's essentially become my joists...so I have (from the ground up: stirrup, joist, board vs traditional stirrup, bearer, joist, board).
@ 450mm/crs - my deck would need 17 or so joists.
This is what I think (hence why I'm here to bounce ideas around): 90x45mm ledger holding up 90x45mm joists sitting on some post anchors set in concrete. Since the post anchors come in a minimum 90mm width, I could just 'chock' an offcut of 90x45mm in the stirrup....or, double-up on the joists (each being 2x 90x45's).
Thoughts?
Cheers
