    Default Bowling Club sun shelters

I'm now in a retirement village with a fully equipped mens shed. The management requested if the mens shed could design, construct and install sun shelters on the new bowling greens, a price was submitted which was accepted. Our quote was about 30%less than the other quote. Finished and installed , handed over last week.
Photos , under construction, ready for fork lift to put on site, finished .
Not bad for a group of 75 to 89 year olds. nine fingers ( a bit different to models and jewellery boxes) We made a profit.

Well done, your group!, and well done your home for having the faith to allow your group of seniors to submit a price, and do the job.
I used to be an engineer, I'm not an engineer any more, but on the really good days I can remember when I was.

They're lucky to have a man of your talents amongst the group. Good to see you all getting the opportunity to still display your talents and not just push you into a corner because of all the rules and regulations that most of these places want to apply nowadays.
A top display of workmanship and collaboration.

This is great to hear for several reasons.

I want a shed to play in if I end up in a retirement home and it is good to hear they exist.

Despite the advanced age of many participants a high quality product was made that benefited everyone.

This is more fun and utilised the skills people still have instead of generic fund raising activities.

And finally, what is next after this successful project. School upgrades? Bus shelters? Charity shop fitouts?

Seeing a bunch of geriatrics on a work site having fun would be a hoot.

I consider myself very lucky to have a shed 16 x 9 m plus air conditioned kitchen and meeting with 2 computors and a printer. In the early stages I was ask what machinery would be needed, I submitted a request and it was full filled.
We ,the mens shed workers are extremely grateful to the manager of this village for allowing us to make , and save them money by , constructing numerous planter boxes for the village and doing general repairs. John.

The first thing that struck me about this was the design - it's practical & lets a breeze through, and it's aesthetically pleasing. Well done, and congratulations to the management for encouraging this.

At the other end of the scale, the Year 11 Design & Tech students at my daughters' school (some years ago) designed & built a bus shelter for the school.
