    Smile Box of Forstner Bits

Today I was at Carb-I-Tool in Levanswell Road Morabbin, Victoria. They were selling boxes for $10 + GST ($11). Each box comes with a variety of forstner bits, 16 in all from 1/4" to 2 1/8".

Now the bad details. The boxes are not perfect, some had sides coming apart, mine has a couple of holes in the ply base. The shanks have not been properly made so may not work in a quick change chuck, should be OK in a normal 3 jaw chuck . The box and bits are labeled "Made in China"

I have yet to try them and make no claims to how well they do or do not work, I just could not believe the price .

The boxes might only be available as a counter sale and only while Carb-I-Tool have them.

    That's a great price "Handyjack",
You could easily afford to purchase a couple of boxes.
Bit far for me to travel.
    Cheers, crowie

If it looks like junk and is priced as junk, it must be junk.

Our Joinery shop is not far from Carbi Tool and the boss buys a lot of stuff from we have one of these sets at work. Can't complain about the job they do for the price.I constantly use the 25 mm one for drilling into kd hardwood and it's fine.

    Default Forstner Bits

    Hi Handjack
I have just bought a box, I have spoken to the sales person and he explained why they are so cheap! the reason being that they have a snap on fitting, but the fitting will not fit the female snap on thus the price $11.00
