Default Breaking edges inside a frame and panel door

So I’ve got this nice little frame and panel door for a cabinet I’m building.

It’s all been thru a drum sander at 120. The outside edges can be prepared after glue-up, using a hand planed to fit the door to the case opening.

For the inside bits, I’m inclined to give the panel a light sanding to 240 grit ready for finish. Then break the edges on the inside of frame… I’d normally do that with a block plane, but that doesn’t make sense for inside-facing frame parts. Maybe I just glue it up first and break the edges by hand with sandpaper.

what’s the common approach here? I’ve never built a f&p door like this before!

That's a very pretty panel. Careful use of 240grit sandpaper or a bullnose plane with a removeable front nose will do what you're after. Alternatively you could use a tiny LN or Stanley 101 then finish the corners you can't reach with a chisel. If the edge of the frame is really close to the panel, you could always make a mini sanding block and leave a mm or two on the block face clear of sandpaper, no chance of marking your panel then.

Thanks! I’m gonna go with careful use of 240 paper by hand. Simple solution often best!

I've got a little bullnose plane which performs this role well. It gets very close to the corners which I then finish up with a whip of a sharp chisel.

Apart from its usefulness, it's the cutest little thing too!
