Cool Brisbane Forum Members GTG - THE WASH-UP

    Well, what a great GTG!!!

9 forum members turned (myself included) up for a day of wood stuff, lunch, door prizes & drinkies.

From left to right; Soundman, Phil Mailloux, rockola, wattlewemake, dai sensei, greenie512, paul collins.
    (Seated) MajorPanic, rufflyrustic.

A couple of hours spent in the shed seemed to fly by as we played with spraying some timber samples & some myths were busted!

After a very nice lunch by Mrs. MajorPanic, we had a bit of a door prize draw..... I don't mind this type of draw as everyone present gets a prize!

rockola won the first draw & selected a Silky Oak marking gauge.
I wasn't quick enough to record what everyone won but all seemed pleased with what they received.

Phil Mailloux brought his 6 string fretless base guitar for us to drool over which was beautifully made & was suitably drooled over!

All in all I'd say that a great day was had by all & I'm sure rufflyrustic has some more photos to add.

I'd like to thank all those who turned up for a very enjoyable time.
    Cheers

    Major Panic

Yep, would also like to thank Mark & Daphne for being gracious hosts and looking after our motley crew. Mark provided a great demo on spraying lacquer and proved how easy it was to apply and finish.

Hope to catch up with you all again at the Brisbane wood show!

    Cheers - Phil

Always great to put faces with names. Thanks for the pictures.

Rather more civilised looking group than that mob at Robbos a week or two back.
    Cheers,

It's not the spraying I have problems with... it's the clean up that ensues.

Can we expect to see any video footage? No? I s'pose that not every state has it's own Stuart. But I am looking forward to seeing Ruffly's pix... it's always nice to put faces to names.
I may be weird, but I'm saving up to become eccentric.

Phil, that bass is awesome. Can you play it well? A fan of Les Claypool?

Nice pics Major, bet those chairs are pretty awesome in real life too.

Thanks Mark, That was a great GTG I loved it, especially happy of your spraying tricks too. It was nice to meet all you guys over there too.

Paul, that was my second bass only I'm up to my fourth build right now.

Martrix, yeah I'm a big Primus fan, that's why I built it but no I'm not that great with it. I prefer fretted. Never played a fretless before I built it.

If at first you don't succeed, give something else a go. Life is far too short to waste time trying.

Careful, Gumby; Americans mean something different when they say thong.
