    Default budgeroo tearout

I bought some budgeroo the other day for a bathroom cabinet and I was routing a rebate for the back, top and bottom of the cabinet from the ends and edge. Much to my surprise the end grain did not tearout at all but when routing the edge I had substantial tear out off the face. Anybody had any experience with this wood? In the future I will use the TS to do a relief cut and then rout it.

Never heard of that timber before but have had similar problems with Tasmanian Oak. You really should always run a shallow cut first, relieves the cutter from working as hard and you will get a better cut...

    Cheers
