Building a bed
New user, so hopefully I am in the right section .....My husband is planning to build a queen or king size bed that lifts up for storage, (similar to the one in the picture), he is a amateur woodworker but very handy. As this is a major project for an amateur person, I would like to ask for some advice. To help simplify the job, does anyone know where you can purchase a metal frame with the parts for lifting up the bed? as it would simplify the project and mean that all he would have to concentrate on is building the surrounding wooden frame to hold the metal base, wooden side tables and bed head. Any advice would be appreciated.

Looks like a variation of a murphy bed. Might give you a start.
Good luck
