I think he has his priorities. Now a father of two little ones and building a home by hand, he is not spending too much time on the net these days.
His last visit to the forums was 8 June. I received an email from him just a few days earlier and he wrote, "the house is slowly progressing. All our magnificent trees are now huge beams ready for the shaping my chisel will impart. I always try to imagine that if they were conscious, I would try to make them proud."

I corresponded with Ryan recently and he is busy with the extension to his family (latest young one), work and woodwork. He still loves us all.

hey guys. I miss you all. I still stop by to check out the gallery now and then, but can't commit as much time to posting. our swath of douglas fir trees is now a grassy yard bordered by bamboo. the wood is milled, but I haven't done anything with it except make an outdoor workbench. I got a comission for a bed and am making that now. as we all know, other peoples projects always get priority. I'll post a picture of the the wood soon. A big stack of 20 foot long 8" x 10" beams is pretty impressive (at 500lb+ each). now you know why i needed such hard core saw horses.
I'll post pictures of the bed when i'm done. it's sort of an Orienal style sleigh bed (if you can imagine that  ). still at the same address. thanks all. stay well. have a good one!

Maaaaaate! Good to hear from you. Look forward to seeing the bed pics, as a KS bed is my current project, nearing completion.
BTW I thought of you and your new house when looking at Sam Maloof's old and new houses - lots of Japanese influences there. If you haven't come across Sam before, it would be worth your while I reckon to have a look. You could pop down the coast and say gidday! Now that would really make me jealous. He would be really interested in your plans too.
Regards from Tasmaina
