    Default Bunnings?

Have Bunnings discontinued stocking Triton equipment?
    I went into
Chatswood store and could not find any stock.

I am wanting to have a second battery and motor assembly for my respirator.

Anyone know of any bargains at the moment?

Try the Bunnings Warehouse at Artarmon. It is much bigger than the Chatswood store.

Bunnings Chatswood used to stock Triton, but they seem to be letting the stock run down, and I'm waiting for the signs to go up & it to turn into a block of units (flats).

Bunnings Artarmon stock some Triton stuff, but no spares. With both stores you would have to go to the 'Trade' counter and ask them to order the parts in - thios has proven to be an unhappy process in the past - Bunnings seem more than happy to sell you an entire new unit, but really drag the chain on parts and no-one has been able to find exactly where the problem lies.

If you are prepared for a bit of a drive, you may still be able to pick up parts at the Hill Industries factory outlet in Riverwood - about an hour and a half each way from the North Shore, so ring them first. (Hills sold roiton to GMC, but for some obscure reason still had heaps of stock).

Historical note: The Bunnings store at Chatswood was the first BBC store - in those days it was 'Benjamin's Building Centre'. The name went thru' a multitude of permutations, always keeping the initials, until BBC was bought out by Bunnings. BBC was the beginning for 'big box' hardware chains in Australia as far as I know, pretty much everything before were single store/location setups.

Bunnings in Tamworth used to have a good range of Triton but seem to have let it go to pack and a lot of it seems to be pretty old stock.

Same thing with Gasweld here in Tamworth. Only have few things left and whats left has been stacked right at the back of the shop and not really displayed at all.

Or try a Mitre 10 or one of the few remaining independents.

I spoke to a GMC rep here a few weeks ago and he said something about triton being aimed at the bigger hardwre chains only (memory a bit dull on exact words here). Plan was to try and keep them priced a bit lower was something else he mentioned. Perhaps stuart can shed some light on this. It was here during the setup for a ladies night and I spoke to him briefly about things. He did tell me that multi stands were being made in China now as the press's at the triton factory were older and it was going to cost too much to update them.
