Bunnings sells Carbatec Stuff - Can use Rewards programs to purchase.
Hello,
I just asked the special orders desk at Bunnings if they could supply a decent sized Bandsaw.
He told me he had to check the website - then he flipped his computer screen around and said "We can supply anything on this web site"
It was the Carba Tec web site.
I then confirmed with the Bunnings staff member that I can use gift cards to pay for CarbaTec stuff through Bunnings.
This could be a useful for those who have a reward points system attached to credit card purchases.
For example I can now cash in my rewards points for Bunnings gift cards and buy a decent table saw and get it delivered for almost nothing to my front door.
Am positively drooling about how I might spend my rewards points - all sorts of fancy good quality gear that I wouldn't normally treat myself to is within reach.
So check out your credit card or frequent flyers or whatever it is rewards program to see if you can get Bunnings gift cards.

Hmmm...interesting. Do you know what happens with postage. Is it added on or do Bunnings absorb it. If Bunnings just ship the stuff with their regular shipments then it could be very good for those of us who live 3 hrs from Carbatec but only 2 mins from Bunnings.
Those were the droids I was looking for.

I'd be interested to know how long it takes to get a Carbatec item delivered.
I just ordered some Carbatec bits and pieces from the local distributor and it will be 10 working days (approx) before I get them.Geoff

I'd also be interested in a price comparison as in the past the "special orders dept" of Bunnings used to charge a premium for there service..... thanks...

I'm interested in this. No carbatec around here, so it could be handy.

I asked the chap would the prices be the same as displayed on the web site - answer was "same price as web site" and didnt say anything about postage or transport so I've assumed its just like buying anything else from local Bunnings.
Will let you know after I've bought something.

Might be an idea to see if your local Bunnings deliver. Mine doesn't, as I found out when I bought 770 L/M of decking boards. Had to organise a truck which just about negated the "beat it by 10% if advertised cheaper" offer I managed to get on the boards. Just a thought.
Regards, Peter.

Bunnings special orders
Hello,
I put this to the test today.
A different person was running the special orders desk.
A bandsaw blade at approx $19ish on Carbatec website ended up costing $29ish at local Bunnings (cant remember exact numbers)
So a $10 premium on a $20 dollar item. Its still worth it for me cos theres not much else that I want to use my credit card rewards points on.
Will have a go at a big tool next and see what happens.

Carba-Tec Site Saw : CARBA-TEC
Bunnings price $625 and I pick it up myself from local shop
C'Tec would charge at least $30 to send it to me

I know this is going to be an unpopular opinion on here, but really, try and stay away from Bunnings. I know its convenient and cheap, but they screw over the local guys and generally sell rubbish quality stuff anyway.

Not an unpopular opinion with me.
As I mentioned above we've just got Bunnings here recently in Alice Springs. My wife and I have made a pact that our first stop for hardware, plants, landscaping supplies etc will be with locally-owned stores. If the locally-owned stores don't have what we're after then we check Bunnings out.

Unfortunately don't have any opposition to the local Bunnings. What annoys me most is if you need 5 things to complete a job they will only have 4 on the shelf.
