Where can I buy a brass ferral,...?
Hi folks,
I am trying to find somewhere to buy a brass ferral, or a brass cap to fit over an acrylic tubing. The outside diam of the tubing is 1", then upwards in 1/4 inch increments.
I dont want a thread in it, as I intend to seal off the tubing.
Any thoughts,...??
Regards
Paul

Some bearing suppliers also carry bronze bushes, maybe these could be adapted.

The correct word is "Ferrule", but other than that, I wouldn't know where you buy them from....
Ummmm, what was the question?

and don't be put off by the fact that they aren't round the corner, the service is excellent.
Or you can probably get copper end caps from a commercial plumbing supply shop, just depends what you want them for.

You can also try getting brass tube from metal supplier or have a look at hose fittings.

What about some brass welsh plugs from cars, they only cost a few cents each and come in a huge range of sizes.

Lee Valley sell brass ferrules. Try www.leevalley.com (is this the most typed hyperlink on the forums or what?!?!). It might be a bit expensive to send jusy one ferrule all the way from the US though. Mind you, once you get to Lee Valley you'll find heaps of stuff you know you just have to have.....
All the best,
Chris

Howdy Pauls!
I've found the places (here in the US) that sell air handling supplies are a good source for brass ferrules. They have them in all sizes for making up air hoses and such. You mentioned wanting to put it on hose; so I'm guessing that what they sell might suit.

McJing tools in Lidcombe have ferrules in lots of sizes. I bought a bag of assorted sizes only a few weeks ago.

Fat Pat.
Before we end up with a full on war round here, may I suggest you do a search on "spelling Nazi" and read a bit of history.
For some time there has been a general truce on the correction of spellings on this board, in recognition of the fact that we all have different talents.
Let's just quit with the boorish schoolteacher stuff and get on with enjoying ourselves eh??
If, after acquainting yourself with the above history, you choose to post in the same vein, then we'll all have a bit of fun with a clear conscience eh!
Cheers,
