Default Where can i buy exotic timber in Melb?

    Hi,
Does any body know where i can purchase some Kauri from a timber yard in Melbourne that open on a Saturday? I use to go to Australian Furniture Timber in Port Melbourne but they only open on weekdays.

    cheers

Roughly 25mm thick by 300mm wide or near to it. Judging by what i need, i think about 4 meters should be enough

Try Mathews Timber in Rookes Rd Vermont, I am pretty sure they are open Saturday mornings.

    Cheers.

Mathews probably wont have it dressed though, expect to order and pay and pick up a few days later. Have you tried Shiver Me Timbers in Williamstown, I dont know about kauri as they seem to specialise in hardwoods but they have lots of timbers there, stock varies depending on what is around as it is all recycled.
    Cheers

You could also try "Australian Recycle Timber" in Campbellfield - northern Melbourne - they have a lot of jarrah, some messmate and they may have kauri - that's from WA isn't it?
