Default Wanting to buy Melamine 1400 X 2000 - Melbourne

    Hi,

I need to buy some 1400 x 2000 melamine for a project but all the sellers seem to limit it to 1200 rather than going up to 1400mm.

Does anyone have any suggestions for where I could buy some bigger sheets in Melbourne? Preferably in the Eastern suburbs.

    Thanks,

    Katie.

Katie, you can try Allboards in Bayswater. They used to have MDF sheets 2400*1800 a few years back when I needed them. They may have it in Melamine, or get it in for you. They can also cut the sheet to size for you.

If they can't help you, no one can.

    Peter.

Cabinet makers buy pack lots of 16mm or 18mm melamine coated water resistant chipboard in 2400 x 1800 and 3600 x 1800 depending on the machinery they have. You should also be able to source via Allboards as well. They offer a cut to size facility for kitchens so should be able to supply cut and edged for you if you like.

Colourboard sheets used for face panels, doors etc tend to be limited to 1200 wide.
I used to be an engineer, I'm not an engineer any more, but on the really good days I can remember when I was.

As stated by malb you shouldn't have any trouble sourcing 1800 wide sheet sizes if from no where else at least at laminex industries but as stated if you go to a cut to size business you should be able to get what you want. Cabinetmaking regularly use 2400x1800x16 and 3600x1800x16 white board and raw mdf in 16mm 18mm and 32mm.
    Regards Rod.
