Which to buy ? Triton Workcentre 2000 or Triton Powered Saw Table
Hello to One and All ,
I am looking for advice on which one i should buy . After reading alot of the posts on here i have decided to go for either the Workcentre 2000 or the Triton Powered Saw table . The router side of things isnt too important as i intend to build a router table later . Most of the work i am doing is building benches and doors and shelves and other things for my work shop/ shed . If the bug bites me to do more woodwork which is the better setup to have ? and what accesories are important and which are just luxuries ? I am limited to a budget of only 5 to 6 hundred dollars as i have just bought another project vehicle so money is now tight . Any advice or suggestions ??
Cheers Plushy

No comparison, buy a 2000. See if you can on pick one up on ebay. For that money, you'll get some extras with it.
like this one......

The height winder is well worth the extra money, although it comes with the 2000 from Bunnings as standard. The sliding extension table is another one, although a home made crosscut sled will do most jobs equally as well, if not better.
The dust bag is almost an essential, as is a dust bucket which you should convert to a mini cyclone. There are many posts, and a video available in these forums detailing how to do it.If at first you don't succeed, give something else a go. Life is far too short to waste time trying.

I agree with Gumby, no comparison..........get the workcentre 2000.
If you have no luck with e-bay, try the "working with wood and timber show" if close when next near you. I managed to pick up some bargains when it was in Perth last year and it is one of the few times Triton will sell direct to the public..........atleast in WA anyway. Not sure if they will be offering something similar again but I was able to trade in a very well used MKII table top and got a good saving by upgrading to the 2000 series. I got to keep the base of the old MKII as well which has come in handy for adapting the triton router table top to it.
however, it was more the savings on the stands, super jaws, dust kits etc when buying the 2000 workcentre. A LOT cheaper than hardware outlets!! Unfortunately it was a case of too many toys and not enough money
Cheers

As the guys have said, buy a Workcentre HOWEVER get yourself a Workcentre2000 rather than a MK3. The MK3 was superceeded in 1996 and parts are no longer being made as of 2006. You can get parts for the Workcentre2000 without out any problems.

I have a Triton 235mm power saw that will go beautifully with your Workcentre 2000, in as new condition for a measly $265.00. Message me if interested.
