Where to buy veneer in Sydney
I know this has been asked before, but I did a search and did not find a recent, direct answer. The question is - where can I buy some veneer in Sydney. What I am after is somewhere that sells small quantities and allows me to browse for it. What I would like to buy is something like, maybe, $100 worth of veneer, in maybe 5 to 10 different timbers. I dont want to have to deal with some grumpy old scroat sitting behind the counter annoyed that I am not buying a million bucks worth at once. I'm quite happy to dive through an offcut bin, or maybe buy a pack.
Failing that, anyone sell packs mailorder - good quality stuff.
Also, some time ago, on this site, there was a post about a company (in Victoria or SA or somewhere down there, I think) that sold native veneers - principally redgum. Very specialised outfit. Cant find its name.
any recommendation
thanks

I was at Trend Timbers near Windsor on the weekend, and they had a stack of young guys in there, all wanting timber for their Yr 12 projects.
The staff all took plenty of time to show the customers options, and work out cutting lists with them - certainly no grumps there!
Trend do do some veneers - give them a call.
Cheers,
Andrew
Disclaimer: I have no financial interest in Trend, just bought stuff from them over the years.

Try Trend Timbers at Windsor.
They usually have packs of various Tassie timber veneer sheets, as well as individual sheets you can go through. They were a bit short last time I went (some time ago) but still worth a phone call

Hope you find what you are looking for

I've bought from consolidated veneers direct before, they were OK to deal with also but nowhere to browse, just grabbed what I wanted from the factory floor.
