    Default what are they called?

    Chaps,

I am after the clips that are used top secure a table top to the base.

hey fit into a slot in the base and are screwed to the top.

    Two questions,

    1 What are they called?

2 Where can I buy them in Victoria?

    Thanks
    Pappy

You can also do traditional wood buttons so only cost is screws. Just remember long grain points into the slot.

Cleats if wood. Z clips if steel. Wilson & Bradley, Preston if buying in bulk.

Your description sounded more like figure 8's at least in my head, and Bunnings have them.
