    Default Cam Lock Information

I am in need of replacing a few Cam Locks on a desk and need some assistance in identifying where I might obtain the identical Cam Locks that are in the desk now. The brand name is Hafele and on the post that the Cam Lock fits on to there is a plastic 10mm threaded piece that the locking post is inserted in to. I have attached a couple of photographs that I hope will assist in locating the correct items.

I cannot use other Cam Locks as all the other posts I have seen have a diameter that is significantly smaller than the hole that has been drilled already

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

    Regards

    Tom

    http://www.hafele.com.au/HafeleHome ??

I think they are only wholesale these days but you can ring and ask for a local reseller.

I have been in touch with Hafele and been told that they do not have them in their catalogue. Hoping that someone might have an idea of some obscure place still dealing with this item or similar. The issue as mentioned previously is the fact that the current holes for the posts are 10 mm in diameter and the common are much smaller.

Not sure as to what purpose you are looking for these but I have had some success when looking for similar from irrigation places which have a variety of through tank fittings both plastic and metal or from yacht chandlery places like Whitworths who have a great variety of through deck and hull fittings.

    Hope it helps.

I think the OP is asking for actual locks, not CamLock fittings Bob.

Thanks Big Shed, have just come across similar last week while reading an old Australian Woodsmith.

"Australian Woodsmith", issue 55, page 45, 48, 49 on the curved front bookcase. Called a mini fix fastener cam. Page 73 says that these are available from "The Do It Yourself Shop" or from the Australian Woodsmith on 0294391955.
