    Default Castor Wheels For Bench.

I am looking for recommendations for castors wheels for a bench that will be on the back veranda, concreate floor, so I can move it out the way when needed.
They will need to support approx. 300 kg.

Also need castors for a some MDF cages 1200 X 600 X 600 and 1200 X 400 X 400 stacked on each other. The floor is tiled so need some that will not mark the tiles.

I don't have much choice here, just Mitre 10 and Bunnings in Alice.

Coincidentally I have to pick up some from their store in Sydney today.

I've got a set of these for future work bench plans - Workbench Castors Kit - Fixed Mounting Plates (WBC001SET) - Richmond Wheel & Castor Co

I got a set of these for a drill press cart, one's rated at 100kg each - (36) Adjustable / Levelling Up to 500 Kg -
I got them on ebay for not much $$ and have been impressed with their ease of use and stability. Probably not for a workbench, but I am happy with them for the cart

I will second this. I am in the process of making a few mobile cabinets for some woodworking machines, and have bought H&F casters (the type that flip up to negate the caster, like the Rockler ones), a set from Bunnings, and a set from Richmond.

The Richmond's are streets ahead in terms of quality, both in their brake mechanism on the caster, and the quality of the rubber wheel.

You can pretty much get a set from them to hold darn near any weight you need, I think.

Industrial Trolley Wheels & Castors Australia | Supo Castors Australia

This place is another option for castors. They were super helpful when suggesting castors for me. I ended up with PU on nylon core. Prices are reasonable too

I bought and have fitted a set of the Richmond castors on the quick release plates.
This was on a large metalwork bench fabricated from heavy 2” angle.
I did this so I could move it about 40 ft across my workshop and later reposition it a metre or so when I finally get organised.
I tried a test lift with the first one fitted and there was no way it would lift the weight.
So I removed the half dozen or so spare elec motors and other junk from the shelf, fitted the other three and used a block and bar to unweight each end and they worked ok. Bench was easy to push even over concrete joins.
I am glad I bought the removable castors as the bench top is flush with the legs and if left on the castors will be an ankle breaker for sure.
I bought a second set of quick release plates and will use these on my woodwork bench in the future. They will be able to live permanently on it as the top is longer both ends.
Re the lifting on the still heavy metalwork bench, I have an old car jack and may weld a couple of lift points at each end of the bench to assist as the castors felt on the limit on the initial lift off the floor.

I've also just bough the castor kit and mounting plates from Richmond for a new workbench. Good bit of kit!
