    Default Castors on bike

I need to put some castors on an exercise bike so that it can be wheeled in and out easily. I have tried attaching them to various parts of the frame but as soon as the castors rest on the floor, the bike's stability is compromised and starts teetering. The bike is not that heavy and I can lift it but an older person can not move it that easily and hence the need for castors. Racked my brain but can't think of a way to add wheels that can be off the ground when exercising and on the ground when needed so that they can be moved. Any ideas?

First thought that comes to mind is the wheels you could bolt onto a Triton worktable.

They were an overcentre pantograph arrangement which are operable easily by foot.
Something similar should work, but would obviously require adaption of the feet to accept such a mechanism.

Wheels on the heavy end so that when you pick up the other end to a certain angle then the wheels make contact with the floor and off you go like a wheelbarrow

Surely the answer is obvious, buy a real bike.

Sorry could not resist that one.

Thanks Ross and Ray, have gone for your idea for your idea Ray. I had originally conceived of some sort of foot operated lever which brought the wheels down and then one could easily lift them back up but I couldn't come up with a design.
