    Default Cat Puzzle

I made this cat puzzle for my son when he proposed to our soon to be daughter in-law (at that time they were going to be married on the 20th of december 2005 unfortunately she was hit by a car whilst crossing a street and sustained multiple fractures and abrasions etc so now the wedding will be december 2006, she will recover but it will take some time). Inside the middle of the cat is a compartment for the engagement ring. I found the picture on the web and had no plans etc to go by. This is my first attempt at something like this and I am really pleased and so are they at how it turned out. You take it apart peice by peice starting with the tail. It is made out of sheoak and is about 250mm long x 160mm high.

Sorry to hear about the young ladies injuries, hope all goes well. As far as the cats go - very good. I have not tried any puzzles before, that looks intriguing.

I wish a speedy recovery for your future DIL.

The cat looks great, well done. I have a pattern of a lizard at home which is done the same but have never seen it done as a cat before.

That's amazing. My only attempt at a puzzle box turned out a disaster, then you go and make something like that! Worth a greenie.

Did you have to freeze the cat before you could cut it on the bandsaw?

Nah! it was so hot over here that the cat melted before I could get it to the bandsaw...so I froze the dog instead and when it went through the bandsaw it went meeeeoooowwww!
