Default Catastrophic failure at 30,000 rpm

Whilst doing a belated chriss present for a mates partner i was rounding over some of the edges.

I was using my 12yo Ryobi trimmer and had only 3 more passes to be made and this happened.

Luckly I was wearing my brown undies and brown shorts.

Yep definately a brown undie moment. Did the workpiece survive unscathed?
I don't suffer from stress, but I have been told I'm a carrier

Yes I did. I was just move to do the next side. Very lucky as I didn't have any more cedar if it stuffed up.

Wish I could but after 12 years of abuse I think they may decline.

I had the same thing happen with a 3hp ryobi router when cutting the grooves in am oak staircase string. Makes you jump.

Also had a spindle molder blade go bang when cutting some stuff for a client. Only found about half of the blade. No idea where the rest went.

Now I know why my Ryobi trim router stays in the drawer.

    Yikes!

I may be weird, but I'm saving up to become eccentric.

Steve when you are free from the chamber pot and have time maybe a metal man might be able to cast a new one or post in "Wanted" Dead or alive for an replacement part.
Maybe the fellow above who leaves his in the draw might part with his

It wold be nice Ray but the stator windings got chewed up badly. No idea how the armature is but it had marks on it from that fan disintegrating.

I was amazed on how tough ABS plastic is, as the adjustment collar was shattered by the expansion of the main body...that's when the brown stuff happens...
