Was looking at getting the Sherwood Hybrid Saw and/or the Hare and Forbes SB-12 Table saw but have decided I'm going to purchase this one W486 - ST-254 Table Saw | Hare & Forbes Machineryhouse I need something that is sturdy with no flex and a cast iron top. Something with a good locking fence and good dust extraction underneath and on top.
I like that it is only 10 Amp not 15 and believe it is a fair price for what it has. Cannot really find any reviews on it though which is a shame but probably rebranded as something else either here or oversea.
For this weekend I am going to try and cut as much as I can with my new track saw and see how that goes so I can leave a bit of feedback on it in an earlier post. Only thing that worries me is getting parallel cuts If I am cutting 2 sides on a long piece. Short cross cut pieces are not too bad but the long ones will be the trick ones.

Hi Garfield, I had to do a job using melamine. to cut it on the table saw I removed the 250mm blade and replaced it with a 200mm
40 tooth thin kerf. With the blade set up 2mm, cut the under side of the melamine , lift the blade up to full height and cut from the top melamine.
Both cuts will be 95% chip free. Also on your bench , put a clamp on the tail end of the guide to stop any movement. John.

hey garfield,
just as a heads up you can multi quote messages rather then having to individually make a new post for each one.
if you click the the little quotation marks (in red) first..... then click "reply to thread" (in blue).... you will find all your quoted messages there. may save you alot of time.

Thanks mate. I was thinking that putting a clamp on that end would help also. Thanks for the tip on the smaller blade also, I might go buy a half cheapie and see how it goes.
Thanks haveabeer. I used to know how to do it but forgot but you'll see I worked it out again towards the last comment lol

Great looking set up G. Plenty of support for the sheets and way better fence. Probably moot now (if you're getting a new saw) but wobble in cut could be changes in feed rate and slight creep away from fence (can happen when you're concentrating on blade and not on keeping board tight to fence)

Hi G. New or second hand? Contractor or cabinet? Sliding table?

Was thinking new Mountain. Was looking at a cabinet type saw as I wouldn't mind attacking a kitchen Reno next year, but see how the laundry turns out.

Sounds great. I think sliding table would help a lot then.
