Default Chair Course @ Ideal Tools

Just completed the 3 day Chair couse at Ideal Tools in Williamstown, Melbourne.
What a great experience, learned a heck of a lot in the 3 days and it`s just an added bonus to walk out of there with a chair and the bandsaw templates.

Anthony has the workshop setup to a tee, every Festool imaginable and that certainly makes the job a lot more pleasant.

Terry is the instructor and i found i learned a great deal by just chatting with him, he`s a very knowledgeable bloke and is only too happy to share his tips and tricks. He has a way of putting all this info across in an easy to absorb format.

I travelled interstate to the course as did the other guys, i think we all found it to be very worthwhile and we all completed our projects on time.

Big thanks to Terry and Anthony for a very well run course, i cant speak highly enough about it, dont be put off if your not in Melbourne either. Some of us Flat packed our gear and it`s easily transported that way.

Some of the highlights for me were learning how to use the frontline bandsaw Jig, some of the great domino techniques, and just picking Terry`s brain on ideas. Didnt take many pics but here are just a few.

Cutting the back Splats on the frontline Jig

    Chair pieces ready for assembly

Allmost finished Jarrah/Sheoak chair, next up i`ll spray the laquer and get the seat upholstered

    cheers
    Brad

Great work on that chair. Looks a treat and I love the contrast the Sheoak gives.

Thanks Brad for your info about the course. Glad you learned a lot and you have a nice chair to show for it as well.
